SOMETHING INTEREST (FOOD TASTING WITH CHEF FARID)

HEYYHOO GUYSS!!! Welcome back again on my blog, so for this time i wanna tell you something interest while i training on the westin jakarta,special for this content i will tell you when i food tasting with chef farid the executive pastry chef the westin jakarta.
This food tasting for completing my internship process on this hotel, so i must make 1 product that i get after i internship untill 6 month on pastry department. In fact, food tasting program has been we discuss from first day i join on pastry department and i already have a concept for it.
When i preparation my food tasting stuff, che farid ask to me about my product that will i make, after he asked directly i answer and i explain about my product. After that, chef farid say " don't make a difficult product men, u can make a simple product like a local sweets". But, i don't belive that statement, i think it just kidding. Immediately i laugh and i see to chef farid, and chef farid say again " seriously, u can make a local sweets, now u stop your preparation and listen to me." So, i stop all my preparation and we discuss about this. And Finally, we deal about local sweets product. Chef want me to make barong ko a special local sweets from my hometown is makassar.
After chef ask me to make barongko, i request 1 hour to write a recipe and learn it. After that, i going back to the kitchen and trial for the recipe. Untill 09.00 pm chef farid still waiting me make a barongko untill i will plating this barongko, chef say "for plating i want you to make a new barongko for yesterday and you presentation to me for this", i just say "Yes chef".
And yesterday i come to pastry kitchen again and make a new barongko for presentation to chef farid. Untill the barongko was plated, i call chef farid and i explain to him about my dish. He say this is delicious, I just find and know this local sweets from makassar, chef farid will add the barongko to local sweets list on seasonal tastes restaurant (all day dining restaurant on the westin jakarta). So thats my something interest and i hope usefull, thank you guys.
